Meet Our Team


Samuel Newby, PhD
Executive Director

As the Executive Director, Samuel provides the strategic vision and management for HNH Ministries as a whole. He has worked in nonprofit management and church leadership for the last twenty years. He has an M.P.A. in nonprofit management (UMKC), an M.A. in theology, and PhD in theology (Fuller Seminary). Sam has been married to Anna for over twenty years and they have two children, ages 10 and 16. ​

Matt Huber
Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, Matt leads the day to day operations of the organization. Matt lived in Ireland for 14 years working with nonprofits and arts organizations. He has a MA in Leadership from Fuller Seminary. He lives in Kansas City with his wife, 3 kids and 2 dogs.

Katrina Huckabay
Food Pantry Manager


Katrina manages the Food Pantry programs and formerly served as the Asst. Food Pantry Manager. She has years of experience working in a wide range of non-profit organizations. She is highly proficient and brings a focused sense of excellence and efficiency to every task. We are grateful to have her on our team!

Danielle Marley
Manager of Client Services and Day Center


Danielle is the Manager of Client Services and the Day Center. She facilitates community life, manages agency services, and  has been putting critical infrastructure in place. 
She comes from an extensive background in the social services field, specializing in crisis management, case management, and mental health services. Danielle and her family enjoy spending time together outside, at the lake, or at the ball fields.

Rose Henness
Office Manager


As a retired university professor and administrator, Rose brings a wealth of experience in administration, assessment, and organization development to Heart & Hand Ministries. Her nonprofit work has been with women in crisis, the elderly, and refugee families.  Rose has degrees from Western Illinois University and Dallas Theological Seminary. As Office Manager, she supervises a team of five administrative volunteers. Outside the office, Rose enjoys traveling, reading, and creating.

Thrift Store Manager


Nancy serves as the Manager of the Heart & Hand Thrift Store. Previously, she was a speech and language therapist.

Financial Administrator
