For the several years, Heart-n-Hand Ministries has sponsored free Thanksgiving Food Baskets for the Cass County community. Those who may have otherwise not been able to share a Thanksgiving Dinner with their families, are now able to do so with this program.

The donated Thanksgiving groceries allow families to celebrate in their own homes.  This serves our main goal: Committing to the empowerment of poor and homeless individuals in the Cass County, Mo. community. We strive to meet the needs of the whole person — Spiritual, Physical, and Emotional, so that they may become independent and self-sufficient.

For most Americans, Thanksgiving is a time of plenty. Unfortunately, there are many families in our community who have not been blessed with a bountiful harvest. As our population grows, the number of those in need grows along with it.

The success of this Project is only realized by the generosity of the Cass County community volunteers. Last year, with the help of our community many families were delivered frozen turkeys and various fixings. We receive no government support in our administration, and we are not a United Way agency. We depend completely on donations from individuals, groups, businesses, foundations churches and grants.

If you would like to share your bounty by volunteering or donating to this specific outreach, please contact us at (816) 322-1133.

To participate in the Thanksgiving Food Basket Program, you will need to sign up in early November, with food being distributed in the weekend before Thanksgiving. You will be required to provide a photo I.D. and social security numbers of family members you will be serving food to.
