Vision Statement

We were established in 1997 after recognizing in the response of the community in an effort to reach out to individuals and families, the need to provide resources and facilitate improvement in their economic and social condition.
Over all our organization can be characterized as a Non-Profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of surrounding communities. Our organization serves southern Jackson County and Northern Cass County. We currently network with a number of benevolent and private agencies. We also collaborate with some government entities to produce other opportunities. Services offered presently are Food Bank and pantry, clothing assistant, and utility assistants. We offer and refer Parenting, Marriage, and Life skill counseling,. We also refer housing options.  Work program, case management are becoming growing programs in our organization.
A large extension of our organization is a continuum of care program.  It is dedicated to the prevention of homelessness, recognizing that that a large percentage of the Households including individuals, unaccompanied youth, and families with children are lacking a permanent place to live continuously for a year or more or at least four times in the past three years are considered long- term homelessness.  Any period of institutionalization or incarceration shall be excluded when determining the length of time the household has been homeless. This is determined because of the state of habitat involved.  Long-Term Homelessness is invisible with-in our society because of our normal perception of homelessness.
The predecessor “Emergency Homeless situation” is addressed generally with limited results due to the program protocol funding guidelines. Its success rate is low. This is based on the reentry to society of the client being generally short lived.  Addressing Long-Term Homelessness through programs of redevelopment of life perception and education of choice would alleviate the short-term “emergency” homelessness.
The image Heart-N-Hand Ministries Inc. wishes to portray through these efforts will exude one of Honesty, Character, Integrity, and Leadership to give the community a hope for independence and self-sufficiency.
